Apparently

I think I have been unofficially 'let off'' the Net Diet team.
Apparently they probably carried on without me.

I suppose I'm making my own guidelines then.
Apparently I'm not as distracted when I'm online as I was last semester.

I also think I have been unofficially grounded.
Apparently I have been going out and not been studying.

I want want want to go out this weekend - Talent Night and CG outing.
Apparently I'm going to miss out on so much fun - definitely.

I have a Marketing test next week worth 20%.
Apparently the urgency has not hit me yet.

I didn't realise it was already the end of week 6, halfway through the semester.
Apparently I have not been on time with my studies.

I want to try new things before the semester ends.
Apparently rock climbing is really fun.

I thought I was coping reasonably well.
Apparently not.

But what I want or think is not important; it's what You want for me and how You want me to share.
Let me not be oversocializing but underhelpful, rather be able and willing to provide help when they need it.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Goodbye World

All it takes is 5 minutes in the morning with Him to make your day.

How often do you take what you have for granted?

We're starting our Net Diet (Loy, 2009) again. Once again, no Facebook, no MSN, no blogs and no YouTube. 1-2-3-gasp!

Toodles!

Happy birthday, Sheldon! :)

This is what you would receive as a text if you were in the Malaysian time zone. Enjoy being 19!

You Guys

I was just reading through a friend's blog when I thought about friendship. It's been ages since I've seen my friends from high school, and I miss all of them. I miss the whole college and S6 environment from last year, new stories and little escapades every now and then. I'm not very good a keeping in touch online or anything - but perhaps it's time to start working on that. I realised I have no idea what my 'close' friends are up to, I don't know where they are, I don't know how they did in their exams, I don't know if they hooked up with anyone or if there're sparks flying here and there. I don't know if they know what's happening in my life either.

This goes out to all my pretty ladies:

How distant things between us may seem, I want you to know that I still remember you and you're still dear to my heart. :) *hugs & kisses

You Know You Love Me!

An anteater walks into a bar and says that he'd like a drink.

"Okay," says the bartender. "How about a beer?"
"Noooooooooo," replies the anteater.

"Then how about a gin and tonic?"
"Noooooooooo."

"A martini?"
"Noooooooooo."

Finally, the bartender gets fed up and says,
"Hey, listen buddy, if you don't mind me asking - why the long no's?"

Let Go, Let God

Always easier said than done.

Sometimes we hear these catchy phrases and often miss what they actually mean - I know I do that a lot. We pray it, we memorize it, we speak it, but do we do it?

'Let go' -- now, how often do we hear that. It's a phrase that many want and need to hear, to apply. As hard as it initially is, most eventually succeed in letting go - of people, relationships, dreams and resolutions - given the time. After all, it's in the manageable levels of physicality and emotion of our being.

'Letting God' -- and this is the hard part, where it's spiritual. At least for me it's something I'm still working on. Letting God be first in our lives, letting God's words speak to us, letting God love us. Saying it isn't enough. When there are circumstances and uncertainties, do we let God? Or is it otherwise in our hearts. He has shown me that it's otherwise in my heart - because it simply is human nature. The challenge now is to acknowledge and surrender specifically the different aspects of our lives, and watch great things happen.

You could choose to see it as how the Laws of Attraction work. I was watching Oprah the other day :p But it hit me as completely surrendering certain issues in my life to God and letting Him work through it. Not easy.

Love is not love without freedom of choice, and that's the love the Father has for us - He gave us the complete freedom to choose Him, or ourselves.

Don't miss that 'dinner date' with Him, lovelies.

The Happening Life;

As Victor puts it?

Holla! Week 3 in Semester 2, 2009 has just ended and I have yet to do anything. As much as Yao Yun and I had our minds set on being consistent and doing all our tutorial work for each week, we have failed deliberately. Nooo! I really believe that God is all I can count on to grant me wisdom and guide me through these procrastinative times. Oh yes; this semester, I am determined to rid myself of procrastination -- starting from tomorrow :)

I realised how the holidays can be distracting for me: I've been praying and talking to Him less; I've been doing the tasks given to me half-heartedly; I've been neglecting some of my closest friends. I suppose I did not spend time thinking and reflecting on what had happened, hence I missed out on quite a few small but important notes. But thank You for putting me where I am now, and teaching me to appreciate.

Speaking of holidays, I'm going to bombard you with pictures of everything significant that happened during this semester break. Best holidays ever, next to the 3 month break after SAM!

**********

Dhassareth turned legal on 16th June, 2009 and we celebrated it with him in Pyramid. We watched 'The Last House On The Left' for about 45 minutes and left to eat Belgian fries at Pommes Frites. After that, we ruined his surprise at Hartz Chicken Buffet. Of course, the black birthday boy wanted to eat dessert - black desert. So we topped the day off with Friday's brownie-ice-cream-thing. Oh wells, at least he got himself a shirt! Be grateful you brat :)

**********

Movie Day in university with Yao Yun was pretty fun. OMG, 'V For Vendetta' is an awesome movie! We brought biscuits and made hot chocolate, which we sipped and nibbled while watching the movie right in front of the librarians. Haha, we got away with it right under their noses >:)

**********

Beatrice came back to visit us! We went for karaoke, and it was really fun. Too bad I can't/have been asked not to post the videos up here - or anywhere else for that matter - because the video is quite hilarious. We looked like a bunch of idiots attempting to move to the beat of 'Boom Boom Pow' while trying to rap.

**********

I'm glad I found time to meet up with almost all of my friends :)

**********

And managed to go down to Ipoh! Well, not for a very happy reason - as some of you might know - but you all also know how much of an Ipoh food enthusiast I am. So it was a good trip, nonetheless! These shots was just the first lunch; I have no idea where the rest of the pictures are. :/

**********

The highlight of semester break: CF Camp 2009; LEGO ME, BROTHER!

Pictures credited to: Christopher Sam, Victor Yu, Kar Kien, and Sara.

'B' is for the bond I share with you,
'R' is for responsibility,
'O' is for the second letter of commitment and,
'T' is time I spend with you.

What about 'HER'?

That means girls can be brothers too! ;)

**********

We sure weren't hesitant on developing our brotherhood. As a result of the post-camp fever: Karaoke session and steamboat session. Fun times, fun times. Though for a while I kind of thought, "Wow, I am literally seeing these people everyday, even after spending four days and three nights in a row with them. Aww." Haha.

**********

Oh, and how I love her majesty, Nurul :) We only managed to meet up this once! Jun Siang was good company, hence, a really fun day out.

And I love Serene too - I feel that we feel how each other feel. Ya feel? :p

**********

LOUD! Concert 2009 rocked DUMC once again. Loved working with you guys!

**********

If you remember, four of us went on a Net Diet last semester for four consecutive weeks before the finals started in effort to do a good job with our assignments, study more and learn to focus. We came, we fasted, and we conquered -- well, almost :p With the money leftover in our pot, we went for that long awaited dinner treat at The Ship. Pretty cosy interior, if you ask a first timer there. The food was pretty okay too. But, what made the night awesome was the company :)

**********

3rd August, 2009: Yao Yun can now officially party all out!

**********

Oh. My. Gosh. Oh my gosh. It's the return of the Dexter! And DJ <3

Spread the love, everybody
